WEUSI A. TAFAWA, FCCA, ACIB, MBA

President 

Weusi is a native of Guyana - with roots in Surinam - and with 35+ years leadership experience in finance and accounting across 5 continents. He is passionate about leveraging his financial and accounting experience working with large and varied institutions.

Weusi worked for the Bauchi State Government in Nigeria focusing on the early adaption of main frame computers in the government; resource allocation models; and Local Government financing. He then joined Plateau State Polytechnic, Nigeria, as the Chief Accountant and later moved to the University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria as the Chief Accountant. Eventually, Weusi served as the Chief Accounting and Financial Officer of the University of Jos, Makurdi Campus for years. Across the globe, Weusi joined the University of Papua New Guinea as the Bursar (Chief Finance and Accounting Officer) and, after 11 years in senior management leadership he then served as the Financial Comptroller at Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, Massachusetts, until 2017.

 

Weusi attended South West London College, England where he completed his banking and accounting studies; becoming an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and an Associate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has a Masters in Business Administration degree (MBA) from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts.

In addition to his role at V and W Logistics, Weusi is a Professor of Accountancy. He is also active in the residential and commercial real estate market globally.

VILMA NICHOLLS TAFAWA B.A.Ed., M.Ed.

Chief Executive Officer

Vilma is a native of Guyana, who is committed to education, an idea shared by her entire family. She believes that women, in particular, have a huge untapped potential and that the empowerment of women must begin early, in their lives.

 

As an educator, Vilma has had an exciting and rewarding career teaching and administering in Guyana, England, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea and the United States. In her last role, she was the Executive Director at Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, USA. She has authored several educational publications including; Bunker Hill Community College Teaching for Our Times, Volumes 2, 4 and 5; Community Colleges for International Development journal and Community College Times. Vilma has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is considered a valued resource person in International Education.

 

Vilma is an International Educator with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from the University of Jos, Nigeria and a Master’s in Education from the University of Papua New Guinea, South Pacific. She is a recipient of Bunker Hill Community College Board of Trustees Distinguished Service Award and of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Citation for outstanding performance.

 

Vilma currently lectures at Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, Massachusetts, USA, during the Summer semester.
